Hi all,

I am a bit new to this, but I have sucessfully converted a DivX4 avi file to an MPEG-1 and burnt it onto a XVCD which my old DVD player can play. However, I have noticed that when I burn it in Nero, it reports the clip is twice as long as it should be, and when I play it, the DVD player's time display is going twice as quickly as it should - however, the clip plays and sounds normally on the screen (its hard to tell since its japanamation - and cartoons are always a bit choppy).

Could it be that the original AVI file is 23.976fps and I encoded the MPEG at 30fps? Should I change that and re-encode it at the same 23.976fps? I am in Canada using NTSC - shouldn't I always have 30fps for TV playback? Does this have anything to do with this checkbox in TMPGEnc called "Inverse telecine (Convert to 24fps : Non-interlace source)?

Thanks,
William
