I only know how to burn the VIDEO_TS.IFO files with CopytoDVD. how do i burn the VIDEO_TS.IFO files with Nero 6, Raxio 6 and such? one question, howcome when you burn the VIDEO_TS.IFO files, it burns the 4 gig onto a DVD-R, although the VIDEO_TS.IFO is only 6KB? also, is there a setting which aloud me to set COPYtoDVD to shutdown my computer automatic when the burning process is over?

Don't know about CopytoDVD but in Nero use DVD-VIDEO and in RecordNow Max use Data.
In both import the VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS(empty) folders.
Try DVDShrink and see if you get the same problem. -
If you have a VIDEO_TS folder with your DVD files (IFO, BUP and VOB) then you can use the classic version of ImgTools to create an ISO IMAGE file then you use DVD Decrypter to BURN that ISO IMAGE file.
Two great things about this method. Both programs are freeware and even more importantly you will get a compliant DVD in the end without any of the issues people tend to have with NERO DVD burning.

P.S.
I have heard really good things about RecordNowMax but never used it."The eyes are the first thing that you have to destroy ... because they have seen too many bad things" - Lucio Fulci

That would be time consuming. Like i said, I just import the VIDEO_TS.IFO in copytodvd and it will burn everything by itself. Now, i would like to know if it's possible to make copytodvd shutdown my pc when the burning is over. i'm trying to learn how to burn the VIDEO_TS.IFO file compressed by dvdshrink in other burning softwares aswll..so i have more options to choose from.
Im gonna check out baldrinks link. -

I use gearpro 6.5 which doesn't have a shutdown feature so I use Poweroff utility which you can set a time when you want your computer to shutdown by itself.
You can find this free program here. http://users.pandora.be/jbosman/pwroff30.zip -

but the that it says to finish burning might not really be the right time and so if u do the poweroff and the dvd isnt finished u pretty much just wasted a dvd and a lot of timeGo to http://www.expage.com/howtocopydvds4free it Rocks! -
You set it for an hour after you start burning. If your dvd burner takes over an hour to burn..... Get a new Burner!!! or set it to turn off later. After all you can schedule it to turn off any time you want. My burner takes only 15min to burn a full dvd at 4X

I have had no dramas whatsoever using Nero. I think where people go wrong is that they try to work out the difference between UDF and ISO formats. The best tip I ever received was to do things "the easy way" and use Nero Express when I burn DVDRs. Four or Five clicks and very easy to understand and follow. Excellent results every time !
If in doubt, Google it. -
I've had no problem with nero either. But you have to know how to change the settings for a compliant dvd. Which is make sure joliet is not checked and ISO Level 1 is selected otherwise it won't play in your dvd player.

Makes you think, no?
The DVD player you have TODAY may like those NERO burnt DVD discs but what happens when that player goes south and you need to get a new one? Will you be so lucky?
I wasted 3 or 4 discs with NERO EXPRESS before hearing about the ImgTools method along with DVD Decrypter.

FulciLives,
You will allow the possibility that Nero might have been improved since you first tried it, right? -
In Roxio 6: first upgrade to version 6.2
Then use the Disc Copier function to load the Image from the Video_TS folder. -
Using Nero 6.0.0.28 to burn. All DVD-Rs (Optodisc Gold and Silver, Ritek G04, Taiyo 4x, Memorex 4x, etc) play in my Panasonic S35S and the Toshiba SD-1600 that isn't even supposed to be able to play DVD-Rs. Using the DVD-Video option. FWIW.

Yup ... same here, using Nero 6 DVD-Video option.
Burnt hundreds of Ritek G04's and haven't found a standalone yet, that cant play one.
To be fair ... Nero did have some compliancy issues a while back, but these have long since been corrected.
