  1. I saw this great site yesterday and came across the guide on recording any dvd to one dvd using dvd shrink and copy to dvd programs.

I am new to dvd recording, so this helped out immensely. Last night, I attempted to copy my first 2 dvd's.

The first one burned perfectly, with no problems at all. It even played perfectly on my Sony DVP- S530D DVD player.

The problem arose when I went to burn the 2nd dvd. The ripping to my hard drive and compression portions worked fine with dvd shrink.

However, when I went to burn the disc, Copy to DVD refused to start burning it. Every time I clicked "Burn", an error message would come up, prompting to me to insert a "Rewritable Disc".

Strange, considering I had already burned another disc using a DVD+R.

I double checked everything, and it looked fine. My compressed video file was selected and everything. I also double checked that the size of the video file did not exceed the blank DVD's capacity.

Can anyone tell me what I did wrong, or what I need to do in order to have it work properly again?

Thanks for helping a noob out.

  2. are you by any chance trying to burn a RW blank? CopytoDVD has problems recognizing them, and refuses to write to them (at least for me using v2.3.7). i called VSO and they told me to update my version to the new one and that will solve the problem. never have cuz my current version works flawlessly with +- media, and i use nero 5.5.10.42 to burn RWs; again flawlessly.
if your media is not rw try another blank and see what happens.

  3. Noki-

Nope, I am only using blank DVD+R media to burn.

I am going to try to burn the disc again tonight, so hopefully it was just a random occurrence.
