  1. OK here goes...

I have recorded ROCKZILLA off FUSE channel... with my TIVO, DVD-Recorder.

I burned the disk, with all the videos on it.

I then Used DVD Decrypter to extract the .vob file...

I use PowerDVD5 to play the .vob file...

HOWEVER, I would like to know if there is a way to edit out the commercials. Leaving only the Music Videos.

Preferably not having to convert the file format (.VOB)...

AND /OR what is the easiest way to make a (.M2V) format file for each song...

That is what I want in the end...

    Thanks

  2. If you find out how to edit or comvert vob back to mpeg for cutting.. I would like to know. There seem to be a lot of suggestions on here, but I have yet been able to make one work. I wish there was one program that would work with it. It would be worth it.

TMPGEnc DVD Author will open DVD files. To edit out commercials you open the DVD, set start and end points. Then open again and set start and end points for the next segment, etc.

  4. So if I had this dvd author.. I could take edited clips from already burned dvd's.. (vob) save them and burn them onto another dvd and have a hi-light dvd of say 10 different dvd's?

  8. Another thumbs up for DVD Author. Some of the best software I've ever used - well worth the money. Like bugster said though, try it out first.

  9. I did download the trial version of dvd author.. but it did it too soon. I didnt really know what i was doing at that time. It ran out before I could really appreciate what it could do.

There isnt a way to reset it unless I reinstall my OS. and I didnt want to go through all of that.

    Thanks for the help.

30 days wasn't enough ? You must learn to do some preparation. READ!

There are plenty of how to guides. Almost everyone in this forum that has knowledge has it because they were prepared to stuff things up a few times before they got it right. That is how you learn.
    If in doubt, Google it.

  12. You were right.. TMPGEnc DVD Author is great. It edits the vob like a dream. and will put it back into mpeg if needed.

I dont know why I waited so long to get it. I have read other posts on going from vob to mpeg and no one really says this is the best way to go (from what I have seen). Sure it costs about $70.. but worth it.

    It has my vote.

  13. Chopper X will edit VOB files and it's freeware. Cost: $0. Womble MPEG2 VCR will also edit VOB files, but it costs $100. Worth it, though. M2 Edit Pro will edit VOB files but costs a firggin' fortune and it has the ugly habit of
bloating MPEG-2 or VOB files up to about double their size after the edit.

  14. DVD Shrink v3.0 beta 5 will also chop the VOB files and it's free as well. Just use the reauthor mode and set start and end points and rip away!

  15. I just got a stand alone dvd recorder yesterday and was having trouble joining 2 VOBS of the first video I made. I just copied the files to my hard-drive and when I tried to author each VOB was like a separate video then I found you can use TMPGEnc DVD Author to copy the dvd to the hard-drive as a mpg. Then I could author exactly how I wanted. This is a very good program just needs a little improvement with making menus.
