  1. I have backed up DVDs with DVD shrink and clonedvd. I also used dvd shrink and vobrator to get rid of previews. I was wondering how to remove the FBI warning that plays after the menu but before the movie? I ask because there is a new copy protection that creates an endless loop after the FBI warning so that you can't play the movie. It is a disclaimer loop. So I was figuring if I could get rid of the FBI warning it would skip the loop.

    Thanks,
    John

Use IFOEdit to modify the first play. There is guide on how to do this at www.doom9.org. You could also use IFOedit to strip the FBI warning from the dvd entirely.

  4. Hey Guys,

Thanks for the responses. But I have a couple of questions, How do I modify to start at the movie istead of going to the fbi warning and the disclaimer that loops? If there is a guide could you point me to it.
Second I went to Doom9 website but could not find an infoedit guide under the guides any direction would be helpful
If I get this all to work I will post exactly what I do so someone else can follow along.

    thanks,
    John

You need to find out where that clip would reside in your IFO and you'll know where to go from there. Use this guide from 2COOL to help you out.

  7. Thanks guys,

I will try those suggestions and post back on my results. If I get it to work I will post exactly what I did and see if I can come up with a procedure that works for every movie with that same disclaimer loop protection.

    Thanks,
    John

  8. Okay guys here is an update on my progress.

I tried 2cool's guides and think I have almost got it. I first tried to disable the FBI warning that is the third menu in the Video_TS.IFO pgc. That stopped the FBI from playing because I just deleted it. But it still didn't fix my problem because there is a disclaimer loop that plays afdter this that is stored in title 2 VTS_5. The disclaimer loop just keeps looping over and over and won't let the movie play.
So I next tried to disable VTS_5 by changing the # of pre-commands to equal # of post commands + # of pre-commands. This stopped the disclaimer from showing but it was still stuck in the loop at this point. This only happened in my standalone player. PowerDVD played the movie and didn't show FBI warning or the loop.
So I figured next I would try to get the movie to play after I hit play by having it jump right to the movie. Here is the problem. Don't know how to edit the hex to make it jump right to movie. I tried to use the command as follows [30 06 00 01 01 83 00 00] I put this in PGC 2 in video_TS.ifo. This menu is the rated R screen that proceeded the FBI warning after I press play from the menu. What this accomplished was to show the Rated R screen then bring me back to the main menu. SO this isn't exactly the command I needed.
SO what I am figuring is I need to edit that command to take me to the movie not the menu . The menu is VTS_04_0 and the movie is VTS_04_01. Can anybody help me figure out the correct hex command to goto the movie instead of the menu?

    Thanks,
    John

  9. Hey Guys,

I GOT IT!!! I put a jump command in the PGC 2 in the Video_TS.IFO. This is the rated R clip that plays after you hit play in the menu screen. The command I did was to jump to title 1 cell2 this is the main movie.
    The command in HEX is as follows;

    30 02 00 00 02 01 00 00

This was for the Movie Basic.

Hope that helps anybody else with the same problem.
