  1. I am looking for a login script that will ban a users IP addy if they get the login / pass word wrong after multiple tries.

I am trying to keep someone from hacking in by using brut force or similar. So I figure if I could ban them after x amount of tries for x amount of time I would be somewhat better off. Any ideas, I have looked at places like hotscripts.com etc, and I can not seem to find one to suite my needs. Maybe I just over looked one, but after 2 days of massive searching I am coming up with a blank .

Any web gurus with ideas, for us not so experienced peeps?

  2. Need a little more info. Is this for a website that's running SSL, a FTP site, a Forum site...etc?

Did you search google with your question? Example

  3. Sorry my bad....I should have given u all more info, I know better too .

Ok, running WinXP with Abyss Server by http://www.aprelium.com/index.html, and have perl installed and can add PHP if needed, I want to portect a family web page on my home server. On the FTP, I have that option, but can't seem to find it for a web page.

The server software itself has secure page option, but it won't block an ip after so many attempts. Which means that someone could set a bot / brutforce etc to just keep pounding away until it gets the correct info. I am also not really that web server savvy .

I would perfer to stay with WinXP etc and not go with apache or unix, just my preference.
