  1. I have a few AVI's that are about 300 megs each and have a running time of about 30 minutes. When I try and use TMPGEnc to convert these AVIs to SVCDs, it tells me that the output file size will be 2GB and has a running time of 130-300 minutes

What is wrong and is there anyway to fix it?

Or can you recommend a better way of converting these AVIs to SVCD?

    Thanks

MP2-VBR audio in at least one of your avi's? Extract the audio to wav with Goldwave, use the wav as the audio source for TMPGEnc.

  3. Thank you

That seems to be working still a bit large but at least now my 30 minute AVIs can fit on one CD

If you adjust the bitrate (down) in TMPGEnc then you can fit more video. Lowering the bitrate lowers quality however, so don't go too low. VBR video (instead of CBR) can get more minutes per disk and keep quality. Happy encoding!
