Hi, I'm having a problem playing mps's and i found out what it was, but i do not know how to fix it. Mp3's are all clicking and poping, the reason is because my computer isn't using the right dshow filter. It keeps using the Intervideo Audio Decoder, i used graphedit to make a filter using the "Mpeg layer 3 decoder" and it sounded fine. How do i make the Mpeg layer 3 filter the default filter for playing mp3's?

    Thanks,
    -Jason

to temporarily fix the prob. I used media player classic and in the settings set an override to refuse to use Intervideo Audio Decoder for Mpeg audio. Now MPC will use the right filter but it really doesn't fix the prob. When i use graphedit and just say "Render Media File" it use Intervideo Audio Decoder, and then the sound comes out with clicks and pops.

    Please Help Me!
    TIA
    -Jason

  4. Usually pops and clicks are down to people who cannot encode properly!

I use 2/3 programs: Lame/ Razor lame.exe and Winamp to play the files.

Turn off everything while you are encoding.

    You can't go wrong.

I might have come to the same conclusion. except, the clicks and pops are only there when my system uses the intervideo audio decoder.

when i setup an override with media player classic, and use the Mpeg Layer 3 decoder the pops aren't there.

For some reason when i just play a mp3 the intervideo audio decoder takes over. I used graphedit to just make a graph using the render media file function, and it automatically uses the wrong one, which resulted in the clicks. If i manually make the graph using the right filter the sound is great. I just want to know how and why the Intervideo Audio decoder became the default.
