  1. Have a couple of AVI videos that the video freezes immediatelyand audio continues. I ran vdub-mp3-freeze and it said that there were no video freezes. I ran Gspot and it said that it was a valid DIVX AVI file, that I had the codecs installed, and that rendering was successful. VBub can find the individual frames but they won't advance. What's wrong here?

Do they freeze on all your players?
    Hello.

  3. Yes. Freezes on Windows Media Player ver 9, Ace Divx Player, and Divx Player. Works for the first 3-4 seconds and then video stops while audio continues.

I never used the Virtual Dub mp3 freeze software. Does it do the same as Virtual Dub mod's scan for bad frames, or is it something different? I wonder if bad frames are your problem.
    Hello.

  5. I really like Vdub-mp3-freeze. It finds bad frames and when you delete them it keeps the audio in sync. Has worked for me on several previous occasions, but now it says that there are NO bad frames.
I'll try that other program you mentioned just in case.

  6. Let us know how things turn out rdfarr.

  7. rdfarr - it sounds a lot like you've got some DivX files encoded with a newer version of the DivX codec than the one you've got installed.

gSpot doesn't tell you this unfortunately, but it happened to me, and when I've pointed it out to people here in the past, it's fixed their problems.

The symptoms match; the video seems to freeze after only a few seconds on playback, but the audio continues.

Try downloading the most up-to-date DivX5 - and see whether your video files start playing properly.

    cheers,
    mcdruid.

  8. Hey, that was the problem! Thanks. Would have thought that GSpot would have found that I did not have the right Codec installed.
