both are similar, lg might support more cheap media out of the box, but why mess with cheap media in the first place.

i picked up my nec1300 for $95, now just waiting to get the discs.

  7. Do you want to sell your Toshiba SD-r5002?
Not worth alot now since 4x dual format drives are so cheap though. Might be better to keep as a spare. But if you want to sell it cheap PM me, I might take it for the kids system.

I have one, I never heard of 1X princos supposed to burn at 2X on it though! I burn leda/princo at 1x, ritek G03 and G04 at 2x.

Nero is buggy! I just burned a ritek G03 with Nero the other day, Nero said burning at 2x, final summary stated succesfull burn at 2x also. The truth though is it took 1hr to burn and that is 1x, so Nero lied!!!
Same disks do burn at 2x (about 30 minutes) using Tmpgenc DVD author built in burner. Every Ritek burns at 2x with that program, so it's a Nero problem!

As for burning a princo 1x disk at 2x, never did that!

If your using Nero with your new drive and don't get full speed burns, try a different program!

NEC drives are somewhat instable. My drive for instance, doesnt burn Princo's at 4x, coaster's every single one. But at 2x it works fine. My friends drive wrote 4x princos with no problems, for a while. now it also craps up. strange.
