  1. Ok, so I just got my TV2000XP card and installed it and the software. Everything was working great but I could not fast forward or rewind with the remote control. (there are no buttons to fast forward or rewind, but there are buttons to go to the beginning or the end) There was not a way to set the buttons to do something different, so I installed different software (showshifter) to see if I could set up the buttons, but didn't like that program so I uninstalled it and went back to the original.

My problem is this. After I uninstalled showshifter I can no longer use the remote. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the software that came with my card. As well as unstalling the card from the hardware device settings in windows and rebooting. Nothing has worked. Does anyone have any idea's on how to fix this?

  2. 1. Remote batteries OK ?

    2. Got a clear shot from remote to IR lens pickup ?

If the balance or your card hardware/software is operating normally, I would suspect the remote itself...

  3. Yea, remote batteries are ok. Worked perfectly last night, but still tried new batteries in it. Still no go. Have also tried from a range of 6 inches to 5 feet. Still no go. I am wondering if there is some driver that got uninstalled, but I would not know which one it is. I reinstalled the four drivers that I knew of.

  4. Perhaps a cuppla things to look at:

    - Since you say you just got your winfast card, you might want to pursue a return/exchange as that remote may have crsapped out internally.

    - as to that other app you uninstalled, it might have took something out that it shouldn't - or left something undesirable. Since you're running xp pro, dunno if you can do a system restore ? If not, try running an error check (scandisk) to catch possible blips.

    - remember those winfast drivers being somewhat picky on just how they get installed. Perhaps a visit to leadtek's site for latest driver d/l might help and think they have a related file there that gives you install instructions.

    - last thing to chk is that your IR lead is fully plugged into the card. Yeah, I know that's "simple", but it's happened to many of us one way or another.

    good luck.

I checked my remote using a remote control app on my palm pilot. You point the remote at the palm pilot and hold down a button and the palm pilot reads what freq it is transmitting at so it can program itself. It worked so I dont think that it is the remote.

I cannot do a system restore as I have disabled the system restore service(uses too much resources) I will run scandisk and see if it comes up with anything.

I have gone to leadtek's site and have the latest drivers and version of their software.

Just checked it and it still doesn't work. I have had that problem before not hearing my audio correctly, posted a question about it then just happened to check my wiring. Boy did I feel dumb.
