Burn errors with Sony Dru-500A

I've had 8 disks (Memorex) fail to burn out of 25 with my burner. Errors occur with both Nero and Clone DVD. Seems this problem has just started to be more and more here as of late. I didn't use to have any troubles. Can someone tell me what to look at to fix this problem? Is it the media that's bad?

I bought a 25 pack or Memorex 4X DVD-R and I can't get a good burn on either my Sony DRU-500ax or Pioneer 105. My guess it's the media.

Thanks. Some of them burn just fine. What media would you recommend? I just picked these up at WalMart.

TDk either 4X DVD-R or DVD+R work well in the Sony burners also Ritek 4X DVD-R. The cheap CompUSA brand 1X DVD-R will burn at 2X in your Sony and I have never had a bad one in 300 discs.
