Trying to find someone with similiar setup that can capture SVCD quality without dropping frames. I've enabled DMA and defraged, but when recording 480x480 NTSC(525), 2.3Mbit/sec 44.1/16bit, MPEG2 vbr, Deinterlacing, no Visual Masking, P/B 4/2, ME (anything), Hor/Vrt 32/16 -- I'm still dropping up to 7%
AIW 128 16mb AGP
Win2kPro
ATI MMC 7.1
PIII 733
640mb Ram
If you have similar HW and not having a problem, please help.

I have the same problem and I'm trying to get a handle on what is i-frames. So far, what I know is it used less cpu process and files are usually large that IBP captures. I've posted questions about this, but I haven't received any replies yet.
Currently, I'm testing 480x480 @ 6mbits, i-frame, 44.1k. It seams to capture well, depending on the cable channel. My ME is set to 65 and I watched for a few minutes with on messages of frame drops.
My system: p3-550, 128m, 4g scsi for os, 20g eide/66.
