  1. Howdy, i had a recent problem creating a 33 minute AVI on my (dedicated to video) 40GB because of the 4GB file size limit of the FAT32 file system that it was formatted with.

I have one question for you, Could it be possible for me to format my slave video drive to NTFS (which has no file size limit), and still use my master drive with it's FAT32 file system. What i mean is; will both drives work fine if they are using different file systems and will this really solve my file size limit problem?

Thanks for reading. PS I am running with XP.

Yep no problem, the best way would be to Format it.

Just make sure that you have nothing on your slave, if you do back it up.

Then just right click on the slave select format and choose the NTFS option, you can either go for a quick format of go for full format it's up to you.

If you have somethinfg on your drive that you don't want to lose, Partition Magic will convert it to NTFS without wiping out your data.

  5. Since you are using XP, go to my computer and right click on your slave drive. Select format and under file format select NTFS. Click start and it should begin the process of converting your drive to NTFS. Make sure you have saved everything on that drive cause it will erase everything.

There are reports of some applications getting confused with
    mixed filesystems. Can't remember which.

You don't even have to format the drive. You can simply convert to the NTFS file system using the command prompt. It's something like this:

    convert c:/fs ntfs

I really can't remember. Just go into the help system and search for "convert drive to NTFS".
