Frostyc i had the exact same problem with you with the difference that i have a pioneer A06 and im using DVD Decrypter,DVD Shrink and CopytoDVD for burning.
I have tried i dont know how many solutions but without being able to find out what was causing it.I tried 3 different media,i tried lower burning speeds,i tried writting less than what the DVDR could actually hold.
It was freezing on the last second of the movie. My solution was to change the burning program.Im now using Nero 6.0.0.19 and i have burned about 10 DVD-Rs without a single problem.
So no im using DVD Decrypter first, then im using DVD shrink to make it fit in a DVDR and then i use Nero for the burning.I have absolutely perfect backups of all my original DVDs and im very happy now that i finally found the right way.
From i have learned from my personal experience is that different burners like different programs.I cant explain it but this is the truth. Many say that CopytoDVD is very good but it didnt worked for me.You have to experiment with different programs to see which actually workes. This is what i did.So i recommend to you to try first this method.I hope i helped.

I have similar problems too . I've noticed this pixelation or freezing of the movie happens close to the end of the show, when I burn close to the full capacity of the disc. I have tried this on three burners and can be duplicated: Pioneer A03, Pioneer A05 and the Plextor 708. The common denominator seems to be the media as already been said here. I am using DVD-R and those media made by Verbatim Datalife (not the plus which is a rebadged CMC) and surprisingly even the Riteks ( I've used G03 exclusively) seems to have this problem. My solution if I know that I am stuffing data close to the max. capacity is to use media which I think are better than the Riteks: the Taiyo Yuden, Verbatim Datalife Plus and the Apple (Pioneer rebadge). These media are really good and have wide compatibility when I burn close to the capacity of the disc. Several set top dvd players can play these quality discs without any problems. If you have some space to spare most dvd blanks will handle and not cause any problem. YMMV.

I knew it. I lent some DVDs to someone and they
"did me a favor" by putting some nice labels on them
for me. I'm going to put broken glass in their shoes.
There was a whole thread somewhere about taking labels off.
I lost it. I just used a tiny bit of soap in warm water. -
Try water to remove the paper and De Solve it for the sticky (orange solvent) the orange solvent will dissolve the adhesive and has no chance of causing label side damage. It is non abrasive and realitvely inert.
The real answer lies in completely understanding the question!
