    Hi, everybody!

I (better: ffmpegX) created a 2 gig MPEG file out of a VOB. It was converted using quick settings (SVCD PAL) and bitrate 2500. Viewing that MPEG with vlc is possible... so far so good, but there qere no .img or .cue files produced

    the output file was movie.mpg
now there are three files movie.mpg-1.mpg to movie.mpg-3.mpg, but how can I burn a SVCD out of them?

I have tried to use the tools bar, enabling SVCD (.img) and splitting into 3 chunks, selecting my movie.mpg file. Clicking "author" results in the same. Can I convert the files with the command line tools manually?

    Thank your,
    CMZ

Use a program such as vcdeasy and create bin/cue image files and burn with vcdeasy or cdrwin or nero or alcohol 120% or any other program that can burn cue/bin files.

Make sure they're in a path without spaces or special characters in the file or folder names.
Select the mpg-1.mpg in the first Browse.. field of the Tools tab. Enable the "Author as SVCD" checkbox only on the left side. Click the "Author" button. Repeat for the other two files.

    Hi,

i did that. ffmpegX tells me that it is ready about .5 seconds after pressing the "author" button, unfortunately without having done anything . the real path to my file is
    /Volumes/Portable/Movie/movie.mpg-1.mpg

I tried both, creating .img and .cues but both don't seem to work

    Hi!

I finally got a solution for my problem:
I did not get ffmpegX to create my SVCD image files, but I took those 3 MPEG files and created a disk image using the tool VCDBuilder. This works fine, although in an earlier version - I think 0.0.8 - it also worked with ffmpegX out of the box

Thanks for all the tips I got of you!

    Bye,
    CMZ
