Sorry if this is the wrong forum, and will understand if its moved.
I have just entered the details of 108 mins dvd, in to fitcd for two 80min cd's. I split the time to give 54 mins on one 80min cd, and then this would be x 2.
It gave me a bitrate of 1889.
I entered a minimum of 500, average of 1889(as above) and 2400 as maximum in CCE, but I still ended up with a mpv of 1.55gb which is too big for two 80min cd's before I even mux it with the audio.??
Can anyone advise as to what they can see I'm doing wrong.
The film length is 1hr 48mins, which =108mins,and audio is unticked. Its for SVCD
Thanks very much
Raider.

Probably it isn't too big, if you encode the audio @128 kbps. You can fit up to 800-807MB on a 80min CD-R.

@Truman,
Thanks mate, I have encoded the audio at 128. Didn't realise you could get 807mb on 80min disc, just thought it was a set 700mb/80min disc and 650mb/74min disc.
You learn something new every day
thanks again, I'll give it a burn and see what happens.
cheers

Nope,I couldn't burn it, loaded an 80 min blank disc with burnproof ticked (my burner supports it)and Nero told me the media wasn't big enough???
I must be doing something wrong in FITCD,but don't know what.
How can i reduce the file size, I thought Fitcd gave pretty good readings??
Would I have to reduce the average or maximum bitrate
cheers Raider. -
FitCD never failed for me. And according to FitCD 1889 (average)+128 is OK. But I use to author with VCDImager and burn with CDRWin. Maybe that makes the difference.
Honestly, 1889kbps is calculated quite close to the limit.
How to reduce the filesize? Either cut a unwanted minute or reencode at a lower average bitrate. -
Is there any settings I might be checking and I don't need to mate, which is causing the problem??
I honestly can't see what I'm doing wrong, unless there is a setting in CCE that I am overlooking???
HELP!! -
I think you would be best suited to use this proggy as a guideline and not for final scripts and numbers. That is what i do.
According to my calculations your movie needed to have an average bitrate of 1476 to fit on 2 cds.
