  1. As promised in my capture card reports posting, my thread about the MB DV & Firmware troubles.

    Copy/Paste
Allright, another update for the MovieBox DV from me.
As is mentioned earlier, my MB gave me problems capturing old VHS tapes, my analogue camera gives no problems at all.
The problem is that the box hangs when capturing only from VHS.
At first this only hapenned every 10 minutes or so, but after capturing the first VHS tape , i switched to another tape, and there's where the trouble started to get fenomenal, every 5 seconds a hangup, and MovieBox reset
    necessary.

I contacted the Pinnacle Helpdesk here in Holland, at local telephone costs, and they stated that there are 3 MovieBox series that are having troubles.(GOOD supportline, no worries there)
    When your number starts with : 203 560 644
    203 560 685 or
    203 560 666
Your box is in for a firmware update, according to Pinnacle

My box's serialnumber is one of them, so i'm advised by Pinnacle to return the Box to my dealer, and they'll ship it back to Pinnacle where they will do the firmware update, that hopefully solves the problem.

This weekend i'll return the box to my dealer, and they'll ship it to Pinnacle Germany for the Firmware update, shouldn't take longer then 3 weeks (keeping my fingers crossed here)

Anyone reading this that has got simular problems or wanting to buy this Box, CHECK the serial number on it, and compair them with the 3 i mentioned.

IF this works, u got an ace tool for capturing Video.

    Scar.

  2. Update :

Returned the MovieBox today, 3 months old, got a new one, now that's what i call service from my dealer.

Already captured 2 hours of video with it from a tape that gave enourmous problems with my previous MB, no worries so far, just some artifacts from the tape, which i will most probably edit out.

    So far i'm

    Scar.
