  1. Howdy peeps, i need your help!

I just got my hands on my first DVD writer (Pioneer 106), everything seemed fine, i made a 33 minute film that i wanted to put onto DVD. So I got hold of Adobe Encore DVD and a copy of TMPGEnc, I did some tests with some 3 minute clips and it all seemed fine, untill........

Rendering a 33 min film for videotape output using a DV editing program is no problem because it streams out of the firewire, however i tried to edit it all down to one avi file ready for MPEG2 conversion in TMPGEnc and i encountered a huge brick wall! A 4GB FILE SIZE LIMIT!!!!!!!!

Now my first thought would be to cut the film in half, render and then stick it together in TMPGEnc before converting to MPEG and then to Encore, but I have a horrible feeling that you can't edit together clips in (you can't in Encore either)

Can someone please help me, any suggestions of how I can overcome the problem would be appreciated.

    Thanks.

  2. Split the AVI in half, encode to MPEG2 with TMPGENc, then use the MERGE tool and have it merge half A with half B creating your new full. All you need do is place the halves in the order you want them merged, then give the resulting file a new name.

I do something similar all the time with TV shows. I capture in AVI, then edit keeping only the show parts, converting them to MPEG2. After all that is done, I take maybe 5 or 6 MPEG2 files use the MERGE and CUT option in MPEG TOOLS... from the main menu.
