  1. I've got a proline as well and have got the same problem. I use Pinnacle DV studio to produce the MPEG with the VideoCD template and then use Nero5 to burn the CD again with the VCD template. When I put the disc in the Proline it just says No Disc. Did you ever get a resolution to this ? I've read the Proline manual and although it does play VCD 1 & 2 it does specifically say don't use CDRs in it - I wonder if this is the problem as Nero can somehow tell between CDR & CDRW even on a blank disc - magic number pre-recorded maybe ?

I'm in the UK and am working with PAL footage - I need to transfer some dv footage to vcd, but despite reading all the tutorials, I'm still stuck.

I'm running Premiere 5, with plug-ins for both Megapeg MPEG1 and Minerva Impressions MPEG2, and can't get either of them to provide a VCD.

What files are needed on a vcd disc? Just a .mpg file or any other launcher files?

I use adaptec easy cd to burn, although minerva can also burn straight from the program. Presumably I create just one data track?

My standalone DVD player (proline) does play VCDs, as I watched a vcd movie on it a while back.

I've tried setting frame rate, resolution etc. as in the tutorials but its still not working!!

What am I doing wrong? I'm getting very confused, the more I read.

    Many thanks in advance

Are you burning the files as ISO or as VCD? You can't burn as ISO with just the MPG file on, there's a byunch of other fiels in certain directories that needs tp be on there... but don't wory about that. Use Neor 5.0 or higher and chose to burn a VCD! If you saved the file as MPEG-1 in Premiere it's nothing wrong with the file!

    Thanx/
