I have installed the .bat file that comes with the vfapi converter. I run the program and converted the .d2v file to a dumb avi. But Virtual Dub does not recognize it.
What am I doing wrong?
Thanks![]()

Inside your virtual dub folder should be another folder that says aviproxy. If it is not there or you have not used it, then it is not on and this is not the problem. Try installing the handler again for virtual dub.

I´ve de-installed the aiproxy, and still it is not working. Do I have to reboot?
Thanks

Did you install the v-dub handler when you set it up? Also, is this a DVD rip? If so, what did you rip it with?

Yes, I installed the avi handler. It is a DVDRip, converted to d2v with DVD2AVI and passed to avi with the vfapi converter.
I ripped it with smartripper -
Mdisalvo,
When you turned off the aviproxy did you run your dv2 file through the vfapi converter again? You must convert the dv2 AFTER you turned off the aviproxy. If that still doesn't work go to http://www.doom9.org/index.html?/mpg/cce-advanced.htm and download the AviFile.reg and install it. It's on the download page under support utils. Let me know how you make out.
