  1. Hi. I'm trying to make a fairly decent menu with Ulead Movie Factory. But, whenever I select the menu, I can't see the selected chapter. Make sense? In other words, I can only guess which chapter is selected, and hit the button. More often than not, I have to go back to the menu and try again. I've tried several backgrounds, no difference.

When the movie has more than six chapters, Movie Factory creates Page 2 for the chapter selections. During playback, I can see the button. But only by trial and error can I actually select the button for the second page.

I'm disappointed with the Main Menu > Chapter Menu concept. And their "you have to buy our more expensive product to get anything better" marketing philosophy. But right now, I just want to create a DVD movie with a functional menu.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance! - Alf

  2. To eliminate the single-thumbnail MAIN menu and to gain far more menu-creation flexibility, one needs to upgrade to Ulead DVD Workshop:

As for Ulead DVD MovieFactory 2...

One should not have any difficulty knowing which button is selected at a given time - assuming the program is installed & functioning correctly.

On my systems, I note that when I hover my mouse over a thumbnail in the software test player, the color of the thumbnail frame changes.

Likewise, when the finished DVD disc is placed into a stand alone player, the thumbnail that is selected takes on a different appearance.

Unless I misunderstand your post, it would seem your installation of the software may be problematic.

  3. Thanks for the reply. I tried my DVD on another TV, and the menus showed up just fine. Our TV is several years old, and we've noticed some of the DVD movies we purchase also have washed-out menus. So, you were right about the menus!

Another problem has surfaced, though. On my TV, the DVD I made looked fine. On the other TV, it looked kinda grainy.
