  1. I have just had a new JVC home dvd recorder.i have set it up all ok but i have one question.I am in the process of recording of my analog cam corder onto a dvd-rw disc.I want to then put in into my computer and then edit out stuff i don't need and then burn it back onto DVD.Are there any guides that will give me a walk through and what mode do i have to format the dvd-rw disc in the jvc,is it VR or Video mode

  9. You can try to look for guides that are talking about DVD-Video to DVD-R. You need to extract mpeg from it or even separate stream for video and audio. Then you can edit mpeg with some Editing tool and re-author it with DVD Authoring tool.

    Best that I know for simple cutting of mpeg2 is Womble MPEG-VCR.

  11. thanks for the help i printed out the guide that you linked to earlier but it made no mention of my disc not being reconised by windows i'm at the moment scouring everywhere i can think off for a few answers

    Hi.
    I'm about to take the plunge and get a JVC DMR1 myself at the end of Jan. ANy comments? Is it good, so far? Have you any complaints, or does it do everything you expected/wanted it to do?
    Any info appreciated.

  13. so far so good looks and plays brilliant still trying to get to all the different options that it has but overall it does everything that i want it to.

    It is probably not recognized by windows because the disk is not finalized. If you are using DVD-RW media, you cannot take it elsewhere to work on until it is finalized. Unless DVD recorders don't require that and leave it in a readable state but I doubt it.

  15. Yes you have to finalise it i recorded in video ode and finalised and now i can see and edit them
