  2. I would suggest installing only the codecs you need rather than using a codec pack. Use gspot to determine the codec used on a particular file.

i install codec to me pc and i get no video or audio.this happens to me alot ill go months with out a problem than a prolbem will pop up.the problem started when i updated my Windows Media Player, i should not have updated it but i though it would help my Windows Media Player. now it wont play anything ,i use the codec to convert my avi/dvl/mpg.... to vcd with TMPGEnc.i dont watch my movies on my PC ,i like to convert them to vcd and watch them on my dvd player

so the big thing id like to do is to get the TMPGEnc to pick up the video and audio. i use decompress for the video/audio, so the audio is not off with the video. but when i go to open the decompress avi that i made the TMPGEnc saids its unsupported. do u no what happen? can u tell me what codec u have on your PC? can u post some codec links that u might think i need?

P.S. these codec are such a pain in the @ss for me , any help would be great thanks .

  6. Have you tried increasing the directshow priority in TMPGEnc. And just to clarify you mentioned decompressing your AVI. Your are not decompressing the video, only the audio right ?

  7. yes only the audio right , i installed some codecs so the decompress"the name of the program"does work now.but with some videos still dont work this is what it said in GSpot v2.1 (4CC DX50/DIVX) (name DivX 5.0) (aspect 320 x 192 (1.667 : 1) (bitrate 914 kb/s) (framerate 29.971 FPS) (duration 01h 34m 25s) (status codec IS installed )

"status codec IS installed" does this mean that i have the codec installed?if so why isnt TMPGEnc picking up the video? it seems like very time i install a codec anther codec gos bad

p.s. i have a lot of movies stuck on my pc that i have bin tring to get rid of, because my pc does not have a lot of memory left (7GB)to do other thinks on my pc
