  1. Maybe I'm doing something wrong here. I create a list of avi's to batch encode. I then open this list and select a group of files that I want to convert to mpeg2. It will start the conversion but it will only do the first file in the list, no more. I have parsed through the forum but I didn't locate any problem like this which leads me to believe either I'm a lousy searcher or I'm missing something. By the way I don't select the option to 'shut down after finish encoding'. Any info is greatly appreciated.

  2. To batch encode in TMPGenc you don't make a list you save the project then add all the projects to the batch encode list:

    1) Load video and audio source as normal.
    2) Change settings/template as desired
    3) Choose ' File | Save Project'
    4) Save the *.tpr project
    5) repeat for each video/audio stream
    6) Choose 'File | Batch encode'
    7) Select all the saved projects you want to encode (*.tpr files)
    8) Hit go (take nap)

Are you converting DV files? I had the same problem. It used to work fine, but all of the sudden, it would stop working and it would encode the first file, and tempgnec would close (you didn't mention that, or it wasn't clear) .

This happens because when you have Type 1 DV files. Convert them to type 2 with canopus codec (got to tools section) and try that. Just make sure that the conversion goes fine, I used another tool where you can convert files in a batch mode, and some of them had sync problems . Canopus will let you one at a time.

  4. Ahhh, I suspected I was just doing something wrong. I need to make a project and add the avi's to that. I will update with the results. Thanks for the information!
