The ad in Sunday's paper said it recorded dvd+R/rw and dvd-r/rw! I think it was $299. I haven't looked up any specs on it but that would certainly be the direction recorders should go in. But who knows about the quality.....

Looking back at the ad, I realized it only said it played back those formats and did not specifically say what it recorded.

The kmart website does not list it yet under dvd recorders but here are some links I found about the Classic brand, aka Mustek. The links have similiar content.
