Help with Firmware upgrades for Sony Dru-500a.. 2.0g

i have downloaded the firmware upgrade.... but when i click to do it, it tells me that i have to restart my pc before upgrading... would i like to do this now. I click Ok and it restarts. I start the program again but it tells me the same message....

can anyone help me, this is annoying me, hopefully someone will know the answer as the dru-500a is quite popular.

I do not know if this helps you since I have an DRU-500ax drive, but I did the update about a week ago and had no problems at all. When I ran the update progg and asked to restat the computer I pressed Yes. the computer restarted and before it loaded any additional software in windows (like ICQ and Messenger and so on) it updated my firmware. Since I do not like to update my devices (cos of the potetial danger involved) I did follow the instructions by the letter.....

maybe you missed something in the instuctions like turning the drive to PIO mode before updating or something?
