Hi everyone. I'm trying to get the best audio possible on my encodes from HQ VHS tapes, and I had a couple of questions. I'm using TMPGEnc to encode from AVIs produced by an ADVC-100.

Right now, I'm using the tooLame plugin for MPEG1-layer 2 384kbps. Would audio fidelity be much better if I used the LPCM stream? If so, how can I synch it up back with the video (since TMPEGen produces two different files if you select LPCM). I tried just using "replace audio" in Ulead MF2, but it wasn't quite right. Do you need particular software to produce a single file containing the audio and video, and in sync? I guess this also goes for any AC3 files I might make out of the LPCM stream. Sorry if it's a dumb question, but I haven't seen anywhere how to do it!

Thanks,
Jerry
