  1. Can anyone help me. I have been capturing for some time directly from my camcorder, and decided to try and rehash some of my old VHS tapes. After much research, I opted for a cheap method initially and purchased the Pinnacle PCTV Rave card. Have read all the reviews etc - installed the card together with supplied drivers / software etc. Have been using Ulead Video 6 so continued with this - video capture is excellent BUT I CANNOT GET ANY AUDIO. At present I don't have an S-Video lead so using the composite option. Have connected the audio external lead as advised but still no output.
Am I being a thickie here? or doing something wrong? If I could get audio it looks as if this card will satisfy what I want to do at present.
I have read a lot about needing different drivers and/or software than that supplied - is this what I am missing and if so where can I get it from?
    Any help appreciated.

  2. Go to audio\sound settings (in control panel) and make sure line-in isn't muted or disabled.

  3. Thanks - the line in mute box was selected, so have removed this and checked all other settings which now appear OK, rebooted system but still cannot get any audio capture.

    Any more suggestions please?

  4. Since you have xp, you may want to try a vhs capture using windows movie maker 2 in place of your ulead ver 6 - should help you to narrow down the audio problem cause...

  5. Thanks to you both for taking time to reply.

Have resolved problem and embarrased to confess my stupidity - I hadn't made a connection from the scart lead to the sound card. Fixed this up and audio working fine now.

really would recommend this as a cheap way of converting old VHS tapes to hard drive and then have some fun editing them.

Sorry for being a thickie and wasting time - thanks again!
