BTC1004 (aka MicroAdvantage 4x) ... upgrade firmware?

I just got my MicroAdvantage drive today (cost $58 AR from Officemax) and it is a BTC1004 drive inside ... on fw 0039.

I have yet to install it. I downloaded the newest 0045 firmware files just in case (though not yet applied, just have the files on my PC in case they are needed).

My question to all current BTC/MicroAdvantage users is this: should I upgrade the firmware? If so, what will it fix/help/improve?

I'm not being lazy, just looking for experience here. Have enough tests and experiments going on as it is, don't need a new one. Surely somebody out there has already fiddled/tested with this.

There is a changelog for the BTC firmware on the CDFreaks BTC hardware forum. It goes through all the changes from v39 through v45. Since v47 has not officially been released but is in use by some people, there will be most likely be updates showing the v47 changes soon.

I ended up putting 0043 in it, after it choked on a TDK disc. Worked fine ever since. Nice burner, unbeatable pricing.
