  1. I have recently purchased a DVD recorder and wonder what software package would be the best solution for adding menus? The recorder works great but the menus could use some work! I tried TMPEGenc DVD Author, but it appears as if you have to import the DVD video (create an mpeg) then add menus and re-burn. I was looking more for something that would only alter the menus, and not force me into importing the video from the disc. I guess basically i want something that will open and edit DVD+RW's directly. Is this possible??? I am sure many of you out there are doing this very thing, and would like to know how you go about doing this.

    Thanks,
    gpwake!

  2. dvds are not like cds. you cannot make a compilation disk.
once they are burnt they are finalised. Once this is done you cannot
editthat disk without ripping to your harddrive and rebburning

  3. Really...I just got Ulead Movie Factory 2 which allows me to edit a DVD! It doesn't like the AC-3 audio though, which causes no problem as long as i don't try to import the video. I can successfully add my own menus, then re-burn the menus to the DVD+RW disc.

    Thanks though,
    gpwake!

I-C what you mean, but when burning the disc for the second time with the new menu's it only takes like 1 minute! While burning it says updating menu information....That lead me to believe that only the menus were being written. If it were re-writing the whole disk it would take way longer than 1 minute as there is approx 1 hour of video footage right???

  6. With DVD MovieFactory, you can modify existing videos and menus in a DVD+R/RW, DVD-R/RW or miniDVD disc using a compatible disc burner.

Edit Disc Allows you to re-edit video or menu files in a DVD+R/RW, DVD-R/RW, or mini-DVD discs that have already been burned. If the disc was created in DVD-Video re-editable format, you can modify the previously created menu or add/delete videos directly to the disc without copying the file to your hard disk. Specify the drive that contains the file to be re-edited in Disc drive.

This is from the DVD MovieFactory help files.
