Ok guys, i've many problems concerning different videos...
1/first i have to convert a ntsc onto pal DVD, I will try this link, http://www.geocities.com/xesdeeni2001/StandardsConversion/, but my audio file is an ac3 and isnt recognized by TMPGENc, but well, if u have an easier solution to do it, please post
2/i have a festival video onto MPEG-2, for some obscure reasons when i try to author it, it is desynchro (but it is synchro as original MPEG-2, I tried loads of conversions, but each time i try to change something, it is desynchronizing. Here are the info:720*576 25 fps, 2550 Kbps (311KB/sec), audio is 48KHz, 256 Layer II, when playing the file, it starts @ 2minutes 48. I renamed it to .mpeg, demutliplexed it and remuliplexed, so that it starts @ 0 min, but then it is desynchro... Any help much appreciated
3/ive recorded a video from my TV though composite cable and Virtual VCR. I used "Huffyuv v2.1.1 - CCESP Patch v0.2.2" as compression to capture the show. I can't use this file in TMPGEnc, i dunno why but the file isn't accepted. What i did then was to convert onto divx 5.05 (original pass 16000kpbs), so that i can edit it in TMPGENc Plus. But i can't seem to get the full show, i et a black screen for the last third of the video. I tried then to convert the original file to an uncompressed avi and it makes the same thing. I believe is it because of the compression huffyuv codec. When im trying to watch the video (either divx or original, i have the full thing of it...). Any ideas?

I tried this conversion http://www.geocities.com/xesdeeni2001/StandardsConversion/ and it didn't work... The error was that TMPGEnc Plus didn't find one of the .dll, i checked twice but it seemed to be at the right place...
anyone could tell me another trick please?
About my own capture with Huffyuv v2.1.1, i still dunno why i can't get the full video into TMPGEnc Plus... I can't either put the video directly into TMPGEnc Plus. So I Need to encode it before. Anyone could tell me which settings to use while encoding, or maybe another codec.
Thanks any help would be much appreciated. -
I can't help much with the first question, but I might be able to help with the other two.
As to your second question, this may help. I have an ATI TV-Wonder PCI that I use to record stuff of TV, etc. I find that when I do, the original file plays fine, but if I try to convert it to anything in VirtualDub, then the audio and video go out of sync. I don't really understand why, but the fix is to play with the audio interleave (for when the audio and video are off the same amount all the way through) and video frame rate (for when the two streams gradually go out of sync) settings. Usually, I have to adjust both settings. When I want to make a VCD, I first convert to Divx (high bitrate, so I don't lose any info) to resolve sync issues, then I convert to mpg with TMPG.
Third question: If your file is very large, you could be running into some file size limitation issues. Granted, this is a fairly different scenario, but I had a similar experience some time ago: I was using a microscope to to some time lapse recording of cellular migration. The camera and computer were set up to take a picture every 5 minutes for about 14 hours and make a time lapse video out of it. When I looked at the video the next morning, the video was as long as it was supposed to be, but at about 10 hours or so, the information stopped. There was a frame that had about the top half of the picture, then every frame after that was missing. The file was a ~2GB AVI, and when the file size reached the limit for the format, it stopped recording information. This could be a similar issue to what you are facing, but I readily admit I am no expert, so it may be just an interesting story. Anyway, I hope it helps.
