  2. more than likely your video is out of sync with the audio already. Even though it will play Ok on your computer, it may still be out of sync (computers will correct for alot of the problems).

What type of sync are you having? 2-3 seconds before/after OR gradual in and out of sync.

If it is continual 2-3 seconds before/after, use TMPGENC (not author) to split the video and audio (demux), cut or add the amount that it is off, and then mux it back together.

If it is a gradual in and out. You out to just rerip the audio and reconvert the audio and then mux it up. It may have been a bad setting.

  4. in TMPGENC (under tools), there is a simple mux and a simple demux.

Are the 2 files .m2v and .wav?

Use any wav editor to add or remove the 2-3 seconds and then use TMPGENC (File->tools) to mux them back together.

    that should do it.

  6. bubba,

You are converting from video tape I assume? You probably have a poor source tape, and what is actually happening is that you are dropping video frames while capturing while NOT dropping audio frames. This will cause your audio/video to be in perfect sync at the beginning, but will gradually get out of sync by time goes on. The reason your file plays ok on the computer is that padding is added to compensate for the dropped video frames, but once you try to edit, remux or author, the padding is lost.

Unfortunately, there is really NO proper fix for a gradually out of sync file. It's not worth your time to even try unless the audio and video are just out by the same amount from start to finish. There is no authoring software I am aware of that will keep the padding, so with at least this particular file, once you author it, you are going to lose padding and therefor sync.

  8. Is it recorded on a PVR perhaps? At any rate, if it is off the same amount from start to finish, that kind of audio sync problem can be fixed. Check the "how too" section of the forum.
