  1. I tried backing up a movie called Stone Aged. when I used power dvd to view the movie, I get a green screen, but I can only hear the movie. I thought it was just Power DVD that wouldn't play the movie, so I went on and back it up using CLONEDVD. After it burned I put the movie in my DVD player same thing (green screen, just can hear the movie. Its an orginal movie. The movie plays fine in my DVD player but not my DVDROM. Its acting like I need a codec but its a store bought DVD movie, doesn't make any kind of scence that I would need a codec.
Has anyone else had this problem before?

  4. It sounds like Clone DVD's MPEG2 engine is using a default re-encode setting that PowerDVD's MPEG2 decoder just doesn't like.

I haven't used CloneDVD, so I'm not sure what kind of options it offers, but you might try going into the options and looking for encoder settings, or MPEG2 settings, I don't know what Elby calls it.

If this doesn't work, you have 2 options: A) you can try a different DVD backup utility such as DVD X Copy, or what I prefer, DVD Shrink, which is completely free. B) You can change the MPEG2 decoder being used to render the movie, in this case, PowerDVD has it's own internal decoder, so you'll either have to try updating PowerDVD to a newer version, if yours is at all outdated, or you can try a different player like WinDVD or just find an MPEG2 decoder for use with directshow and use any of the free players out there, such as BSPlayer or Zoom Player, both excellent apps. I use the Ligos decoder, which comes with Roxio CD burning software now, but is also available seperately.

    Hope this helps.
