Last weekend I made more extended tests and encountered some minor "problems".
1. As isobuster didn't like a particular SVCD, I had to copy the mpg file myself to the HDD. When SVCD2DVD tried to delete the copied DAT file, it died with "permission" denied (because the copied DAT was write-protected from the CD).
Suggestion: Check permission before deleting and skip, if protected or ctach exception
2. There was not enough space on HDD for full completion of job.
Suggestion: As the sizes are know before start, just tell the user, if there is enough space.
3. Because of some unsuccessful (partial made VIDEO_TS dir), the program added the succesful made DVD to the first one, resulting in a 8GB DVD:
Suggestion:tell the user to delete the Video_TS before making a new one
4. Using the build in Authoring part is fine, but if I want to make a fancy menu, I want to use other authoring tools, but could use it, because they would accept the mpgs, but playback was horrible, because of the green stripes on the right side of the frames.
Suggestion: use the correct settings as default (now:none) for patching.
And good news:you can make a DVD as big as you like and use DVDShrink to make them fit on 1 4.7GB DVD.

Dragonsf: Thanks for the feedback. The software is still learning to walk - like a toddler - and sometimes bumps into things.
1, 2 & 3 are very valid points. I shall be addressing such things in the near future.
4. The issue here is that you need to set up the patching both pre & post authoring. Now each authoring package requires different settings so I assume you need to know those for the particular application.SVCD2DVD v2.5, AVI/MPEG/HDTV/AviSynth/h264->DVD, PAL->NTSC conversion.

Yes, point 4 is very difficult to handle.Maybe we can build a list for some popular Authoring tools, namely ULEAD MF and tmpgenc (which I now use most often). But as I said before, the authoring of SVCD2DVD is in most cases good enough (I specially like the feature to play seamlessly one SVCD part after each other while maintaing the ability to skip to the next movie).
