  3. I agree, I've had a SB4100 for over 2 years now, and I've not had any problems with it

yea the 4100 was the one I had before I got my current one. Cant go wrong with these. Ive seen others that look like they would fall apart as soon as you hooked them up (ie the ones that come standad with most cable internet connections when you sign up!)

  6. Remember, there's DOCSIS 1.0 and 1.1, make sure your modem/isp match. (Most use 1.1 now, i think.)

"When your cable service provider upgrades to a DOCSIS® 2.0 network system, you'll surf the Internet at as much as 30 Mbps — 3 times faster than earlier modems!"

the thing is most are not at DOCSIS 2.0 but its backwards compatible. it just means when they do hit DOCSIS 2.0 you wont have to get a new modem

3x faster than earlier modems..... whens the last time you ever even got 10Mbps!!!!! some day maybe

  8. Yep I read the marketing lit too.

30mb.....Yeah my ISP is going to open up there pipe so everyone can surf at 30mg ROTFLMAO!!!!

I'm lucky to get the 3mb they promised me with the upgrades....Sure, they may soon be able to provide a 3mb pipe for me to all the internal stuff, but who cares about that? I want a 3mb pipe to the world, and that's never gonna happen. If I did, I'd be my own ISP
