    when i try to convert avi to mpeg it always comes out more than a gig. the movie is only 45 minutes long and im trying to make a vcd. Do i have to change the settings? or something?

    Yes.

    To see what specs you need for VCD, check the WHATIS section on the left of the page.

    FYI, a 45Min VCD compliant mpeg should be approx 450Mb.

    Did you load the VCD template in TMPGenc prior to encoding? If so the bitrate should be locked, and as stated above the standard VCD bitrates work out to 1min = 10MB (ie. a 80min CDR = 800MB).
