Whats up guys. I use ULEAD Video Studio 7 to burn DVDs. Its pretty easy. Seems that it will take almost any movie format and burn it onto a DVD automatically. I've had some good luck burning short TV shows and what not, but here's where my problem is coming in. I have some movies that are 700mb-900mb in avi, or mpg format. When attempting to burn them to a DVD, they are ending up being WAY more than the 4.5mb limit that will fit on my DVD. Simple question. Is there a program that will COMPRESS this file before I run it through ULEAD, which seems to decompress it into this HUGE dvd ready file? Sorry for the stupidity, but i'm very new at this and trying to get the hang of it. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Dave in La

Well, if your files are .avi, converting them to mpg should shrink them down, not expand them. You may want to check out TmpgEnc Plus. It will take your .avi or .mpg and reencode it to the right size for your dvd. It is a very widely used prog and so it shouldn't be too difficult to find guides and help on how to use it.
