mpeg encoder problems from VCD to DVD

HI

I have been following a tutorial that allows me to copy my files from VCD to DVD but i am having problems.

I have been using VCDgear to convert my Dat files to Mpeg. As there are 2 files i have been merging them with TMPgenc..so far no problems.

Then i use Main concept mpeg encoder to change to DVD...But always around the 2 mins left mark to comes up with errors.....Help!

Am i running before i can walk, or is there another method i can use?

I have tried the dvd without encoding as some players do not need it...but shock horror mine does.
