Hello All,
I have backed up many movies using dvd shrink and then clone dvd to burn and have had success. But I encounter a strange problem on the movie anger management and again on Basic. Here is the problem;
I play the movie in my my standalone and it plays to the menu I select play and it plays the FBI warning then plays a disclaimer about the contents not being based on actual people or events and gets stuck running this loop. On the origional DVD it plays the message in english and the plays it again in spanish. The spanish message never comes up on the copy.
I can ge the movie to play if I select scenes from main menu and then select the second scene and skip back to the first.
Does anyone know how to fix this problem?
Thanks,.
John

Had exactly the same problem with the same discs.
(Did read somewhere that the disclaimer is where the copy protection is held and it was always advisable to get rid of it)
I resolved it by doing a movie only back-up.

Hey Guys thanks for the replies. I did do a movie only backup, but still wanted to have the menus. So I have a question about using the tools menitoned. Do I shrink it first with DVD shrink then use the tools or should I use dvd decrypter to rip it to hard drive to use the tools? If someone could walk me through it, that would be great thanks

I found the same message on Hollywood Homicide also. It appears to be from Sony. Anyone have any luck removing the message and keeping the menu. I have backup my copy but was only abe to back up the movie. I would like to back up the whole disk because my kids are really rough on DVDs and they get pretty scratched up. So I would like to make a copy of the whole disk, not just the movie. I haven't tried the vobrator yet,but just downloaded it to try.
Thanks, -
Okay,
I tried to use vobrator to find the looped disclaimer but couldn't find it. I found the FBI warning on blue background that goes to another warning on a red background that goes to the same red warning but in german. This is in the Video_TS folder when viewed with vobrator. The loop disclaimer comes right after the german red warning. But it is not on that file when viewed with vobrator. I could not find that loop anywhere else. Am I do something wrong? Can I delete the FBI warning that preceeds the looped disclaimer? If so how would I do that, cause I think I need the Vidoe TS folder.
Thanks,
John
