In what way is it not very good ?
If you are just importing scans its a matter of sizing to disk size and setting printer settings and its done.
Its only when trying to create your own designs from many smaller pics its not so hot but does a good enough job with a bit of time. Not bothered by small problems...

hi mate
its just that everytime we print onto a printable dvd we cannot get it to print evenly and to the edges
we have tried everything from re aligning the heads to moving the print position to making the image bigger even changing the transparent settings , nothing seems to get over the small white outer edge not being printed on
its almost like theres a shadow from the scaned dvd image being cast and then re-printed onto the printable dvd
realy annoying i thought this printer was edge to edge , cant seem to get that to apply to dvd`s -
Is there not a calibration setting in the software to adjust?
-
theres a few things to adjust to be fair mate
print position in the cd /dvd printing software is one and in settings general for the printer there is a tab for edge to edge printing which is ticked
nothing seems to help , you would have thought that making the image bigger than the dvd surface would solve the prob but it makes no difference at all , still not edge to edge printing and not quite central
i have sum reasonable understanding of settings and printers and my bro who came in today ( uk here ) is top flight Pc whizz , but we just cant seem to get it to print to the edges and without some sort of border around the image
most frustrating , thats why i asked if anyone used anything else to print to dvd`s or cd`s , just cant seem to get this printer to edge to edge
i`m not saying we are real tech heads at all , it may be we have missed something but quite what i dont know -
Where are you adjusting the printer settings ?
Under printer options in windows or via the epson print cd software?
Sounds to me like you have the disk size set wrong or you arnt resizing the scans to fill the template in epson print cd.
Have a play with the print settings in epson print cd you can adjust the print position of the cd both hor and ver. Printing to the edge of the disk is done by resizing the disk template...Just measure your disk and enter the sizes (inner & outer) if it still dont print to the edge add a couple of m/m to the outer dia that shoud do it.....Not bothered by small problems...

Hmm I use the software almost every day and it is dead on all the time. It prints to about 1/32 or 1/16 of an inch to the edge of the disc. I don't think it would be a good idea to be printing all the way to the edge since some ink could find it's way under the disc, just a thought. Anyway I fine the software simple but fast and effective at what it's designed to do.

Thanks for your patience m8
i have tried the settings in the epson print cd software , but will have another go , i cant remember messing with the template settings as such , will come back in this thread with results of how i get on
cheers -
On the left tool-bar of the software there is an icon for "set inner/outer diameter" and messing with that should allow you to print all the way to the edge.

i agree mate but have tried that one already and didnt make any difference
im looking at the software on my mrs pc just behind me and have just found templates
the circular looking shape dosent seem to be circular though , more eliptical , how do you apply this method and reshape it to whats needed , and is this the way i need to go -
ok i have dropped the templates for the mo , if ya choose a picture then a template for it say the circular looking one , it is whaen applied eliptical and when drageed to the cd size it looses its ratios , in other words the subjects look tall and thin
i have just tried using a photo off her hard disk and just stuck that over the cd shape , stretched it a bit to get the subjects roughly where i wanted them and then printed it onto paper , overlaying a cd on top after printing and it appears this method at least on paper works fine , it appears to have printed out to the cd edges
importing from the twain device is giving us the probs by the looks of things , when the image is scanned in , there appears to be a dark edge around the image , which is the outer edge of the original scanned cd image
that gets re produced onto the blank cd , i guess somehow i have to stretch the image imported from the twain , over the cd size by a couple of mm to compensate
thats where we fall down , HOW -

The only problem I had was I had to change paper settings from DVD/CD mode so the print would be dark enough to suit me. Mine works perfect as far as I can tell (after making the proper setting changes).(;-{> Dd

If it doesnt then try this.
File/Open/Untitled.ec2 which should be a standard cd size.
As to the black bit round the cd after scanning i know what you mean its just where the pics ends and the edge of the disk is shown. To remove this just drag the picture past the black circle line so its outside and it wont print it.Not bothered by small problems...
