  1. Can someone please help me, i have different probs with 3 different divx's im trying to convert to vcd or svcd. I am using TMPenc & VirtualDub.
On one divx, i can play the movie in media player fine, play it in virtual dubmp3 and the audio is in sync but stops playing after a about 10/20 seconds as if it has just grinded to a halt. When i play the movie in virtualdub the audio plays but is just completly out of sync, it also says reconstructing missing index block then tells me its detected improper encoding in the source avi & will rewrite audio header with cbr values, this may introduce skew of 8890ms, if this is unexceptable decompress audio stream to wav & re-compress with constant bitrate encoder (bitrate 131+/- 9.5kps).
How do i do this ? what software to use and how easily can it be done.
I have read the how to's and have tried saving the wav and bringing it back in as suggested to sync it up but it just doesnt work. Ive used divfix and another fixer but nothing changed.

2nd problem, i have another divx, quality is good but every few seconds the frames go a bit jerky and the movement of the ppl in the movie look like they are trying to do the robot if you know what i mean. Can i fix this problem ? and if so how ?

3rd prob, i have a movie which has loads of bad frames all the way through it, if i took them all out it wouldnt leave much movie left, ive tried encoding it to vcd & svcd using various different settings and have not been able to encode it so its not blocky, pixellating badly and ghosting so bad it looks like theres three of the same actor on the screen at once. any way to successfully fix or transfer this. Again this is watchable in media player.

sorry about the long post but im starting to pull my hair out here. any help will be very much appreciated.

    thanks

For the first file you can try extracting the audio with Goldwave, then using the new wav file as the audio source. Just load the avi then save.

For 2 and 3, I wouldn't waste my time. It sounds like they're crap.

Look at the number of posts regarding downloaded crap
not working and figure it out. Assume you make $1/ hour.
Now go buy the movie on DVD.

Work from the original DVD. The only legal things you can convert in teh USA are 1960's educational videos and certain concert videos. That's it.

Try AVI2WAV for stripping out the audio. The issue is VBR MP3 which you aren't ripping correctly. That or an AVI that has been 'fixed' incorrectly.

  7. thanks for those who attempted to help me and answer my questions. The original divx was not encoded by myself so i cant work back. Seeing as this is not an option ill have to just ditch the source material and send it back.
As for those are insinuating that i have downloaded and have been talking about pirated or illegal material which has been downloaded then you couldnt be further from the truth. So get your facts straight before making accusations.

I don't think anyone was being mean, just a little kidding. It's a good lesson though, not everyone working with a divx conversion has pirated material. That being said, there's alot of people that don't read the rules and blatantly post about pirated material.
