I just upgraded from windows 98. Does anyone know how to get that network icon to appear. You know the one the appears in the bottom right hand corner each time you connect to the internet. It tells you how fast you connected and how long your current session has lasted. It appeared the first few times but now it doesn't. It's really frustrating since now each time I want to disconnect I have to Log Off the computer. Not like before where I could just click on the little network or 2 computer icon and click on disconnect. Please help.

Open My Network Places on the desktop or thru control panel. Right click the Icon for your internet connection. Then check the box that say show icon. That should do it.

It worked but once I disconnected and reconnected I had to do it again. How can I make it permanent so that it will appear each time I connect? (there is no Apply button, Win xp pro)

Just a quick question. How do you connect? Dial-up or Broadband (always connected). How many entrys are there in your Network Icon(what are they).
