    I'm using m2v files for my svcd's, but they don't work... can i convert them to mpeg?

    yes you can, here the method i use.

    open TMPGEnc
    Goto File -> Tools -> Merge/Cut

    Add your MPEG-2 File
    change the stream to MPEG-1
    and output the file, and it is now in MPEG-1 stream instead of MPEG-2. Ive done that before and it worked
