I have 4 different computers that I get online with, I use XP, XP proffessional and Win 98SE all four computers seem to have the same problem . When I go offline my phone line doesn't want to work anymore even when all computers are shut down I have to go and unplug phone lines to the computers that are hooked up to get a dial tone again. Its usually not even the computer that was last online with that is the culprit. The only thing they all have in common all have is the same internet server. Anyone know of a solution that I am not aware of. Is there some setting that is the cause. I use gtcom.net This problem just started 3 months ago and I have had the server for the last 2 yrs

I would try updating the modem driver first. I would also check to make sure you don't have any fax program trying to take the line when you disconnect from the internet. Hope one of these will solve your problem.
