  1. I am about to author my first dvd. How do I check that my m2v and ac3 files are sync before actually burning it? Which program to use, and is there any guide for it? I am a newbie here.

    Thank you.

welcome aboard! try playing your compilation with PowerDVD, WinDVD, or whatever dvd player you have on your system.
but i might not be understanding your question completely. BURNING and AUTHORING are two different animals. maybe you can describe what you have done thus far (and with what tools), and what you are trying to accomplish. lots of eggheads here at this forum

  3. Thank you for your help. Sorry for not being clear.

I have convert my avi file to m2v using MainConcept 1.4, and convert the audio first to wav by VirtualDub then to ac3 using AC3 machine. Now I would like to author and burn a dvd. I have had many sync problem before when I authored vcd so I would like to make sure that my m2v and ac3 files are sync. Should I check that before or after author a dvd (but before burning it), and how?

    Thank you.

  4. My recommendation would be to either use PowerDVD, WinDVD, or another program like that to check the authored files before burning. Another option would be to invest in a few rewritable DVDs and burn the authored DVD files to that and test it in your standalone player. That way too, if you see anything else you need/want to change in your video, menus, etc before making your final burn, then you can do that before you commit it to a write once disc.
