This is the second avi with MP3 sound that I have tried to process with VirtualDub and TMPGEnc. Since I'm encoding to 80 minute CD, I have
to break theise AVIs into two parts. I create the .wav file with VirtualDub and then try to encode the .avi with the .wav and the first MPEG always comes out fine. The second one however is totally out-of-sync from the beginning to the end. It seems to get more out-of-sync progressively. I have successfully accomplished this task on just about everything BUT an AVI with MP3 sound. I have also installed the Frauhauf MP3 encoder but that has had no impact whatsoever. What is hosing me here???

You make your own sound file with Gold Wave.

    1. Make a note of when in the original video your second video begins and ends.

    2. Load the original video into Gold wave. Select Edit-->Marker-->Set. Enter your times from Step 1. Press OK.

    3. Select Edit-->Copy. You have just copied the audio you will need for your second file.

    4. Select File New. Fill in all the data you will, make sure you have set the duration properly.

    5. When the second audio window comes up. Select Edit-->Mix. Then select Save as and name your new audio file. Mux this new audio file with the video from your second video file, and your second video should be fine.

I recommend not cutting your avi before encoding. Either use the source range function in TMPGEnc to selectively encode each part of your movie (batch encoding does several projects) or create one large mpeg and then cut it with TMPGEnc's mpeg tools.
