Hi
I am trying to convert a .mpg movie to divx.avi with
virtualdub.I am trying to follow the instructions posted on this site,but when it comes to finnishing the process i get a warning that comes up and the prog. seems to freeze.The warning is :: You are trying to Compress with a hacked compression driver :: How can i rectify this problem ??
Please exscuse my ignorance as i have only just started this wonderfull hobby , also if you have a remedy could you keep it very very simple. I mean in step by step instrutions.Thanking you in Anticipation.

I've only tried one or two times, but have you tried flask.

You can load the mpeg >> set the output to avi >> choose the divx codec.
I forgot how to turn off that message, maybe it's in the options. -
That warning comes up if you use DivX,Angelpotion, or Radium. Bascially Avery Lee hates those codecs cause the'r hacks, just click OK (and tick don't show me this message again) and you can use it. Or download DivX 4.01 which is legal.

i have the same thing going on wqith me an i got flask mpeg an now i dont no how to use it help
is what im trying to do is iv got a movie that is an mpg an im trying to change it to an avi so i can fix it HELP
