I've ripped some VOB files (using DVD Shrink) and burned them to DVD using Nero, but the image is stretched vertically. The original had the picture centered on screen with a black band running accross the top and bottom. Any suggestion about how to reduce the height of the picture (squash it down abit and center it like the original)? Does any authoring programs allow me to do do this?
Thanks

You said you ripped the VOB files with DVD Shrink, but what did you author the DVD with?

Yeah you can rip with DVD Shrink but it's not recommended. Most people rip with DVD Decrypter/Smartripper and use that as source for DVD Shrink.
Sounds like you somehow introduced a DAR error in the IFO files (16:9 vs 4:3). Without more info it's hard to say how this happened. But try this:
1) D/load and install DVD Decrypter
2) Rip DVD with DVD Decrypter
3) Load ripped VIDEO_TS folder with DVD Shrink
4) Shrink as necessary to a DIFFERENT folder than the source
5) Make sure output folder is named 'VIDEO_TS' (all caps) and burn as normal (I personally burn with IMG Tools + DVD Decrypter as I don't trust/like Nero but lots of people use nero w/o any problems so...) -

Where can I get igm tools from? cant find it. -

you never mentioned on what you are viewing this disc...TV or PC? if it's TV i haven't a clue. if it's PC i think you need to adjust a setting that will allow you to view your creation at the correct aspect ratio. for example in PowerDVD you can adjust the movie to a whole host of ratios, but only one that will look right. good luck.
