Ripping Problem

Hi

I am having a problem with a dvd (tears of the sun ntsc) i am trying to make a back up of it. During the rip it always fails at the same point on a read error. I have tried using DVD decryptor, Clone DVD and DVD shrink with no luck. This is the only disk this happens with. I am also running AnyDVD on the computer to make it region free so it plays in all my DVD players.

Sounds like a problem with the disk. You might try cleaning it. If try then try to return it for an exchange.

Try ripping with Smartripper,sometmes it works when others fail. If you have a DVD recorder try ripping with that,it's slow ripping speed allows it to read thru errors DVD-ROM's cannot.

Warm water, toothpaste (white kind) and your finger. I haven't had a disk yet I couldn't rip with zero errors (broken ones don't count, if the plastic is actually split you are hosed).

Radial motion from center to outside, not circular. Maybe 30 seconds on a light scratch, and no more than 4 minutes for a Kids disk. If it doesn't work start over. Usually you can see the offending scratch, and if your good with geometry, you can calculate how far out it is for any given failure at a certain %.
